Michael Cavallaro as Jim Morrison

Michael Cavallaro has over two decades of experience as a musician and performer. His journey began at the age of 16, when he stumbled upon the hypnotic allure of The Doors and the voice of Jim Morrison.

In those early years, Michael found himself emulating Morrison’s vocals, captivated by their raw power and resonance. Soon after, he witnessed a covers band performing a Doors song. It was then that the dream of some day forming his own Doors tribute began.

A decade passed before that vision became reality, and the band “Morrison Hotel” was born. However, this was short-lived, as the practicalities of work and family took precedence, temporarily putting that dream on hold.

Now, in the dawn of 2024, “Morrison Hotel” rises again, with a new name Mojo Risin’ The Doors Experience …  This is a band reignited with renewed passion for The Doors’ and their music. For Michael, Mojo Risin The Doors Experience is more than just a tribute band; it’s a vessel through which five friends get to pay homage to the legacy of The Doors, ensuring that their music continues to resonate with audiences. With every note, every lyric, and every performance, Mojo Risin The Doors Experience keeps the spirit of The Doors alive, perpetuating the enduring magic of one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most iconic bands for generations to come.

In 2007, Michael made the pilgrimage to Paris to visit Pere Lachaise cemetery, and sat at the grave of Jim Morrison, while also visiting the apartment building (17 Rue Beautreillis) that Morrison passed away at.

Michael’s favourite Doors song

  • Although it’s virtually impossible to pick just one, if I had to it would be “Take It As It Comes”. I just love that jangly keyboard riff which come in right after the chorus…

Michael’s favourite Doors album

  • Strange Days. It’s all killer and no filler!

Michael’s favourite Doors song to perform

  • The End. I love the darkness of the song, and how hypnotic it can be.
